The digital version of the game is being offered for sale
WOTLK Gold at $70--which includes a mounted mount that can be used for Burning Crusade Classic and World of Warcraft the current expansion, Shadowlands. It also includes the character boost, an in-game item as well as a special World of Warcraft effect for Burning Crusade.
However, players may be the most unhappy about the fact that they will have to shell out $35 per character in order to "clone" an exact copy of their character , so that it could be played in both WoW Classic servers as well as Burning Crusade Classic servers. The current WoW Classic servers will be automatically upgraded with Burning Crusade Classic on May 18th with the pre-patch.
There is no cost (other other than the normal cost of a subscription, which includes the possibility of playing WoW Shadowlands, Classic, and Burning Crusade Classic) is required to play Burning Crusade, but for players who wish to play each version of WoW, they'll have to pay the $35 fee for cloning. Many players have stated, the entire Shadowlands expansion costs only $5 more than the cost of cloning a character, which further demonstrates how expensive the cost is.
In all honesty, it's an enormous amount for a game that a lot of players were attracted by its absence of paid services and cosmetics. Those within the community of WoW are already complaining that Blizzard appears to be taking the same approach with Burning Crusade Classic as it does for Shadowlands as well as other expansions, all of which allowed players to buy new pets, mounts, as well as other game-related items and services with real money.
The most well-known WoW content creator Asmongold recently stated in a video
buy WOTLK Gold that was posted shortly after the announcements by Blizzard: "I'm disappointed because I thought this wouldn't happen...I did not expect them to make a complete 180. I didn't think they would change from having no microtransactions at any time in the game in the first place, to literally selling you boosts and mounts within the game, in a matter of hours."
