Hello, I've been checking out Runescape as a user on these forums as well as the RSOF. About a year and a bit ago, I quit Runescape because of a lack of interest in games like
RS goldDragon Nest and being occupied by school (still am) and also feeling depressed by RS. The last one seems to be what most players are feeling today. But I digress.
So I returned to Runescape. I signed in and browsed around. I also purchased an Guthix, Zam, and Sara set with the Treasure Trails money that I was a once Treasure Trails member. Noticed the slight changes in this and that, one new quest in F2P and Squeal Of Fortune (that generated quite a buzz here back when it was released and of course,) as well as Titles. Personally, I think that the SoF is rather boring. The good stuff is for mems only and it's not like they'd add an ancient statuete worth 5m in the reward.
The question is, what is there to do? While I was active, I loved the clan warfare between the Wildy clans before they created Gamers' Grotto. But most clans today seem to require some level of commitment.
It's unlikely that I will commit to being an official clan player in RS. I see Guild Wars 2 as my main game. It would be wonderful to be able just to join one clan and then log off. But I'm not sure whether it's feasible.
This thread was created to solicit ideas one guy could do to have fun without being in a clan. It sounds quite ludicrous, actually, since the MMOtag suggests that you have to have other people to have some enjoyment, but I don't know. I can remember going around as a newbie and being awed with how large the world of RS was however the magic is lost.
Like the majority of gamers, it's too late to be able just to get leveled up for a few hours on one skill. While achievements of skills can be enjoyable if you're attracted by that, I became bored of the process of leveling up once I had reached the level of 106. A +1 on the level is just too much work.
In a way, going back to a game you played as a child might not be the most ideal thing. It's likely to be the typical "If you don’t like the game, then find another one you like
buy RuneScape goldand begin playing it" response. It's okay. But I thought it would not be a bad idea to ask for some suggestions. Who knows? Maybe I will have some fun.
